Expression- Science & Art- Pyage Shivadas

Among many other ways, our work desk too is one of the way of self-expression.

One such desk is of Pyage Sir at the Director(T/P&P) Secretariat.  Enter Pyage Sir’s chamber and you will find yourself nestled in mother nature.

On one side of the room, large glass window offers bountiful view of the green canopy.  Occasionally, you can also spot simian power– The monkeys  ensconced comfortably on the windowsill.

While  most  of  them  sit  quietly  on  the sill, the super-curious will  give  the  laugh  of  the  day.

Look  on  the  other  side  and  you will have desktop, white-board,  magnet board  along  with  other  office essentials.  The  set-up  is  a quintessential  example  of  Henry  Fayol’s  Principles  of  Management.  One  of  the principle  mandates  the  importance  of  ‘Order‘  in workplace— proper place  for  everything and  everything  at  its  proper  place’ .

Indeed,  this  space  encourages  work-friendliness  and  self-expression.  Self  expression  has  many  manifestations. And  one  of  them  is  one’s  flair. So  before  you  think  its  only  his  office  space  that  inspires, tune in to Pyage Sir’s latest song- Tuj’se Naraz Nahi Zindgi from Hindi Movie ‘Maasooom’.  And if this playback voice spellbinds you, share  your  first  thought  in  comments  section.

The best conversation are the ones where people share their personal experiences.  Sharing one such–

“A wonderful thing happened recently. My Boss Director (Technical/Project & Planning) NCL P.M.Prasad Sir met one of a mining veteran Mr.Abdul Kalam, Ex-CGM Jayant….During a random conversation, Mr Abdul Kalam mentioned my name…..On this, Prasad Sir said Pyage is my T(S) these days. Mr Kalam shared word of appreciation and asked for my contact….. Later we connected on Whatsapp. ”

This doesn’t look like a government office. Wonderful space and sure the person has lovely voice.

Singing and well organised office space, both manifests expression of the person. He has a wonderful voice.

The principle of ‘Order’ in Henry Fayol Management Principles is very vital. But most of the organisation do not realise this. Lack of order adversely affects productivity
